PAYMENT TERMS
Changes and cancellations to bookings made up to 2 days before your arrival date are without charge.  Changes or cancellations to bookings made less than 2 days before your arrival date will incur a charge for the full duration of your stay, although we will endeavour to resell your room. If we are unable to resell your room we reserve the right to process payment using the card details supplied at point of booking.
GUEST BOOKING INFORMATION
  • Location: We are located 1 mile from the town centre, which is approximately a 20 minute walk.
  • Car parking: We have one car parking space per bedroom in a private car park behind our home.  If you require additional parking please inform us prior to making your booking.
  • Breakfast: is served between 7.30am and 8.30am weekdays and between 8.00am and 9.30am at weekends and on bank holidays. 
  • Dietary requirements: Please do advise us in advance of your stay if you have any dietary requirements (e.g. gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, etc).
  • Arrival time: Check in is between 3.00pm and 8.00pm and we do need to know your planned arrival time within these hours to ensure that we are at home to greet you.  If you require a check in time outside of these hours please email or call us to discuss this prior to making your booking.
  • Departure time: Last check out is 10.30am.
  • Cancellation policy: If your booking is changed or cancelled less than 2 days before you are due to arrive we will endeavour to resell your room, however if your room is not resold your stay must be paid for in full. We reserve the right to use card details supplied to process any payment.
  • ACCESS STATEMENT
    The Battledown Bed and Breakfast was built in 1855 and as it is a Grade II listed building we are unable to make alterations that allow wheelchair access.  We have 3 bedrooms on the first floor and 4 bedrooms on the lower ground floor.  Parking: Private Parking is available behind our home.  There are 7 marked bays, 1 per bedroom.  The front door is on the upper ground level accessed via 7 stone steps, leading to the reception area and the guests’ room.  Stairs to First Floor: 14 carpeted steps lead up to a standard double room, a further 4 steps up lead to a single room and a standard double/twin room.  Stairs to Lower Ground Floor: 12 carpeted steps lead down to the garden level. There are 4 further rooms on this level, 1 standard twin, 2 small doubles and 1 family room.  The rooms on this floor have a separate external entrance accessed by 7 stone steps. All steps and staircases have handrails.
    TERMS & CONDITIONS

    There are not many terms and conditions here at The Battledown Bed and Breakfast as our aim is not to restrict guests but to offer you the best bed and breakfast experience that we can, inevitably there are some though so please read the following.

    The Battledown Bed and Breakfast welcomes all, however we are unable to welcome any pets but we do accept guide dogs.  

    No smoking is allowed in our home, but ashtrays are provided in our gardens.  

    There is a maximum of 2 guests per small or standard double room and also in our standard double/twin room and standard twin room. The maximum number of guests in our family room is 2 adults and 1 child.  Any child under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult in their bedroom. Rates are per room per night and include VAT.  

    Rooms are subject to availability and we reserve the right to refuse or cancel any booking.

    Damage to rooms:   We are sure that our guests will be responsible. However, occasionally accidents will happen.  If you cause a spill – please inform us, we will come to clean it straight away for you.  However, significant damage to rooms will be charged for at the rate of repair or replacement in addition to any loss of business.  In these unusual circumstances, a letter or email will be sent to the guest within 7 days detailing the damage and costs and the bill must be settled within 28 days.
